Episode #20 – Collin Van Pelt

-Musical Influences -
Robin Thicke, Donell Jones, Musiq Soulchild, Lyfe Jennings, Trey Songz, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Michael Jackson, Soo Many.
-Biography-
Collin Van Pelt was born in Providence Rhode Island. He was raised along with two sisters by a single mother. Life had always been a struggle, but through the graces of God, they are blessed with love and music.

Episode #20 – Mia Boostrom

- How did you get interested in music in the first place?-
“I was born to play music. I was rocking out as a toddler and am continuing to follow my lifelong dream of being a famous musician.”

- How long have you been performing?-
“I have been performing since I was 10 years old.”

-Where have you performed?-
“I have performed at the Agganis Arena with David Foster, Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, TD Bank North Garden, The Palms Resort and Casino, Mohegan Sun, The Dunkin Donuts Center, The Manhattan Center, Rick’s Music World, FIDM, and various open mics throughout Massachusetts”

- What kind of music do you enjoy most? Any favorite songs or performers?-
“My favorite genre is soft rock/soul. I love Jason Mraz, John Mayer, and Norah Jones. I like it because I focus on the vocals.”

-How would you describe yourself to someone who does not know you?-
“I am very spontaneous. I love to talk. Music is my life and soul! I love to travel.”

-Who would you say has most inspired you?-
“As a singer, John Mayer. As a songwriter, John Lennon.”

Episode #20 – Anna Nyakana

-Who would you say has most inspired you?-
“Bob Marley has most most inspred me for his music woke my consciousness. The messages in his songs inspired me to keep true music alive and write songs that can relate to the masses; people from all walks of life.”

-How long have you been performing?-
I have been performing since Elementary School; when my family and I immigrated to the States. I always participated in school concerts and musicals and began playing the clarinet at age 8. At age 15, I taught myself how to play the guitar and classical piano.

-What would you like to be doing five years from now?-
“Five years from now; I would like to be inspiring people around the world to pursue their dreams, live in harmony, and create positive changes around them, despite theri circumstances, through my music.”

-What is the most fun thing you have ever done?-
“The most fun thing I have ever done is skydive; I jumped out of a plane at 10,000 feet. The experience was freeing for I floated through the air and had no boundaries.”

-What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
“Being featured on the front cover of the Uganda Observer, printed in Kampala, Uganda. My father is from Uganda and that newspaper showed me the support I had across the world from the country and continent that also claim me as their daughter.”

-How would you describe yourself to someone who does not know you?-
“I would describe myself as someone who wishes to see all humanity in harmony and love, someone who uses her music to shed light on all the real things in life.”

Episode #19 – Pat Foley

Pat Foley
Hometown: Sanford, ME

-What kind of music do you enjoy the most? Any favorite performers or songs?-
“I like classic rock and a lot of the new country that’s coming out. Favorite performers are Bob Seger, John Mellancamp, Kenney Chesney, Johnny Cash. I love their styles, and Seger and Mellancamp’s raspy vocals have always worked well with me.”

-Who would you say has most inspired you?-
“My family with their unconditional support. Musically it’s hard to pinpoint since there are so many influences.”

-What would you like to be doing five years from now?-
“Performing my own music in venues and concert halls.”

-What is the most fun thing you have ever done?-
“Opening up for national acts ; .38 Special, Bad Co., Dave Mason, REO Speedwagon, Leon Russell to name a few.”

-What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?-
“That I have made a sustainable living and raised my kids on my music.”

-How would you describe yourself to someone who does not know you?-
“Outgoing, young at heart, never shy, and energetic.”
