Brown will be signing autographs after performance

NEW YORK-  On Monday, August, 23 Ayla Brown will continue the Fizzically Fit Tour at the Marshfield Fair with Polar Beverages, Verizon FiOS and Community Auditions.

Ayla will start performing at 6pm and will be performing all new songs including “My Favorite Part.”  Brown will be at the Verizon booth signing autographs after her performance and fans will be able to purchase her CD.

Community Auditions and Hugs for Heros will have a booth right next to the music stage where Brown will be performing.  Community Auditions will be accepting submissions for the 2011 season and Community Auditions Summer Tour merchandise will be available for purchase.  “To date, Hugs for Heroes has shipped nearly 7 tons of goods to our soldiers in Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine units located throughout Iraq and Afghanistan.”  Fans and fairgoers will be able to make donations to the organization or even stop by to write a letter or create a nice card for our soldiers overseas.

Polar Beverages will be sampling its beverages for everyone to taste from the Polar Beverages igloo right next to the music stage all day.

The tour will continue on to Kidsfest on Saturday, September 18, where some of the Community Auditions’ favorites will be performing as well as Ayla. The CA favorites performing are: Megan Harney, Branden “Jus B” Wilson, Mia Boostrom, Scarlet Fade and The Cranks. Kidsfest will be on Wachusett Mountain.

Now in its 42nd season on air, “Community Auditions: Star of the Day” is the longest-running entertainment series in television history.  Each episode features three New England performers competing to become the “Star of the Day” and thus eligible for prizes ranging from a new Subaru to the a production of their own showcase CD by Bob Johnston, who has produced million-selling albums for such artists as Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash.  Contestants are rated by a three judge panel made up of radio DJs, producers and other entertainment experts. Who would you say has most inspired you?
“Luther Vandross.  I’m know as Baby Luther.”

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
“Not geting whomped at Showtime at the Apollo!”

What is the most fun thin you have ever done?
“Sing the National Anthem at the Boston Fleet Center!”

How did you get interested in music in the first place?
“Grew up in Church…Love for music started at a very young age.”

How long have you been performing– and where have you performed before?
“I have been singing since the age of 10.  I have opened up for many artists who have toured through Boston including Patti Labelle, The Tempations, Sean Paul, Harold Melving & The Blue Notes,  Have performed at Showtime at the Apollo, Sang the National Anthem at the Boston Fleet Center and background vocals for Mariah Carey”

“How would you describe yourself to someone who does not know you?
“Fun down-to earth, laid back, big giant teddy bear!”

How did you get interested in music in the first place?
“I’ve been singing all of my life; it wasn’t until I was asked by my junior HS music teacher to audition for the LaGuardia HS of Performing Arts.  I was accepted as a vocal major and the rest is history.”

As a performer, what makes you stand out?
“Audience members share that my smile makes me stand out and thatI look like I am enjoying myself when connecting w/ them throughout my performances…I’d like to believe them.”

What makes you different?
“I try not to take myself too seriously, although, it’s important that I convey the emotions the music calls for…either way, I’m enjoying myself…I feel I best communicate through performance and song.”

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
“Other than becoming a wife and mother, changing my career from MSW Social Worker working w/ foster youth to becoming a certified Group Exercise Instructor teaching exercise classes to groups of 80 youth or more in schools.”

“Anita Baker, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Rachel Farrell, Teena Marie, Sara Vaughn, Regina Belle, Whiteny Houston, Billie Holiday, Chaka Khan, Pattie Labelle, Sade, Jill Scot, Layla Hathaway, Donnie Hathway,

Who would you say has most inspired you?
“There are many musically but Anita Baker first comes to mind.”

How did you get interested in music in the first place?
“From my father.  He would always play the best music for me.  My mother was a huge impact as well.  She always encouraged me to learn to play an instrument and sing.  I was born loving everything about music because of my family!”

Where have you performed?
“Many clubs, festicals, weddings and parties.  I sang the National ANthem for hte boston Celtics twice this season.  I made it the finals of hte Boston Pop’s Popsearch 2007.”

Who would you say has most inspired you?
“My mother.  She always goes for what she wants in life and I am inspired to do the same.”

“What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
“Becoming a mother, singing with Pops and singing for the Celtics.”

What would you like to be doing five years from now?
“Singing!”

How do you spend your free time?  Do you have hobbies?
“Having dance parties in the living room with my son are a great way to spend my free time.  I love gardening and going to the beach.”
