Episode #26- Anna Nyakana

Anna Nyakana
Hometown: Stamford, CT

Who would you say has most inspired you?
“Bob Marley has most most inspred me for his music woke my consciousness. The messages in his songs inspired me to keep true music alive and write songs that can relate to the masses; people from all walks of life.”

How long have you been performing?
I have been performing since Elementary School; when my family and I immigrated to the States. I always participated in school concerts and musicals and began playing the clarinet at age 8. At age 15, I taught myself how to play the guitar and classical piano.

What would you like to be doing five years from now?
“Five years from now; I would like to be inspiring people around the world to pursue their dreams, live in harmony, and create positive changes around them, despite theri circumstances, through my music.”

What is the most fun thing you have ever done?
“The most fun thing I have ever done is skydive; I jumped out of a plane at 10,000 feet. The experience was freeing for I floated through the air and had no boundaries.”

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
“Being featured on the front cover of the Uganda Observer, printed in Kampala, Uganda. My father is from Uganda and that newspaper showed me the support I had across the world from the country and continent that also claim me as their daughter.”

How would you describe yourself to someone who does not know you?
“I would describe myself as someone who wishes to see all humanity in harmony and love, someone who uses her music to shed light on all the real things in life.”

Episode #26 – T.C. Foxx

T.C. Foxx
Hometown: Biddeford, Maine

How did you get interested in music in the first place?
“I as many before loved music from the moment I was born; talent shows and plays- I was into music full force from a young age.  And then I grew up and joined the Navy and became an adult.  I put my foolish dreams aside and did what many do and that is grow up, raise a family and work.”

“Music to me is a passion an something that is as much a part of me as the air I breathe.  So I have decided that even knowing that it is a dream that may never come true I am more willing to try and fail then never try and wonder.”

Where have you performed?
“I have performed where ever people are willing to listen, from San Diego to Singapore.”

Who would you say has most inspired you?
“My inspirations are three little people that make my life a jot to live.  My children are my world and my light at the end of any dark tunnel life chooses to put me in. My parents who are my rock.  They set me straight when I need a good stern talking too.  Their love is unconditional and blind. And the love of my life, Peter.  As he gives me all the love I could have ever wanted.  He supports who I am and all that I want to achieve in my life.”

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
“As far as a great accomplishment, as far as living out my dream; I would consider gathering the strength to try again with my music.  But again, my family is first and foremost.”

How would you describe yourself to someone who does not know you?
“I am a pretty easy going person.  I love to have fun and need no help doing it.  I rarely meet anyone that dislikes me and I am a jokester.  I love to joke and have fun with life and with the people in it.  I am very confident but not cocky. I am just me, a down home crazy jokester with a big heart.”

How long have you been performing?
“I have performed off and on for about 20 years/ small stages, different faces and same old me.”
