Episode #39 – Dalton Letorney

Dalton Letorney
Hometown: Weymouth, MA

How are you feeling about being on Community Auditions?
“I’m always excited to perform anytime or anywhere. I feel that being on Community Auditions gives me a great opportunity to show what I can do.”

How did you get interested in music in the first place?
“I told my parents that I wanted to take piano lessons about 4 years ago.”

As a performer, what makes you stand out?
“I think the fact that I play the piano and sing is what makes me different from everyone else – and that I just turned 12.”

What kinds of music do you enjoy best?
“I like all kinds of music. The first song I fell in love with was Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ after I heard it in school and went home and taught myself to play it on the piano.”

Who would you say has most inspired you?
“My parents have inspired me to always do my best and never give up. They said that if you are going to something in life, practice and hard work will help you achieve what you want.”

What would you like to be doing five years from now?
“I would love to be discovered and have a record deal. I’d love to go on tour and give concerts to screaming fans.”

Episode #39 – The Siracusa Project

The Siracusa Project
Hometown: Tewksbury, MA

As a band, what makes you stand out?
“I think what makes us stand out locally with all the other talent in our town is our original song and cover song selection. Our originals have received a very positive response in the past year and a half. It helps us because most of the bands from our hometown are strictly cover bands. Not it’s a bad thing to be a cover band, but it helps us to have originals to add to our variety. The covers we do are also something that makes us stand out. You never know what you are going to hear at our shows. We have something for everyone in the room and we do it in a way where you don’t even know it’s coming.”

Where have you performed?
“We have played at numerous bars and clubs in Boston, Lowell, Tewksbury, Billerica, Haverhill, etc. We have also had some great shows in New Hampshire. We love the opportunity to play in different places – it builds support and gives you more people to share with.”

Why kind(s) of music do you enjoy best?
“We are very big fans of simply great songwriting. The cool thing about this band is that we all share the same influences and style of music. We love great songwriters such as Tom Petty, Rob Thomas, Elvis Costello, etc. We are also huge fans of 90′s pop rock and share a common interest in acoustic music.”

What is the most fun thing you have ever done?
“The most fun we’ve had as a band so far was being featured on a float in the Memorial Day parade in Tewksbury. Being asked to do that really made us feel that we were making an impact locally, and that was our plan from the start. We wanted to take the first few months and stay local and slowly ripple out as well developed a following. The parade was a great way for a lot of new faces to see us and it opened a lot of doors such as being asked to play for the town on the night of the fireworks on the 4th of July. Every show always seems to lead to a better one. It truly makes you feel as if you are doing something right.”

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
“Our biggest accomplishment so far has definitely been this opportunity to play on Community Auditions. I have been watching the show for a while and every time I watched I would always think in the back of my mind, ‘Man, we could so do this. That would be so great for us.’ This opportunity turned that thought into a reality and for that we are so grateful.”

What do you like best about your hometown?
“What we like best about Tewksbury is everything. This is where we started out a year and a half ago and the support from all the local residents has been phenomenal. The town officials and committees in Tewksbury have been amazing as well. Without them we would not have had the Memorial Day float and 4th of July concert. It’s great to see leaders in the town recognizing the interest of the residents and pushing us forward when they have so much going on. We consider ourselves to fortunate to have had that backup as we progress forward. You are only as good as where you come from.”

Episode #39 – Cassie Lynne

Cassie Lynne
Hometown: Marshfield, MA

How long have you been performing?
“I have been performing ever since I was little, any chance that I had. I loved to entertain and make people smile.”

What kinds of music do you enjoy best? Any favorite performers or favorite songs?
“I love anything with soul, great lyrics, or a funky groove. I love the performers who aren’t afraid to be creative or innovative. Right now I think Beyonce is one of the best performers out there. She gives 150% to every move she dances and every note she sings.”

Who would you say has most inspired you?
“People who come up to me after I sing to tell me how my music has affected them and how grateful they are.”

How do you like to spend your free time?
“I love to snowmobile, ski, spend time with my family, take pictures, sing at church, go to the beach, and Zumba!”

What do you like best about your hometown?
“The beach! I live a mile from the beach and love the ocean because it’s so peaceful.”

What would you like to be doing five years from now?
“I would like to be performing my music on a national tour!”

Episode #38 – Ericka Foley

Ericka Foley
Hometown: Natick, MA

How did you hear about Community Auditions?
“We watch it at home. My parents knew of the show when they were kids.”

How long have you been performing?
“In front of my family, I’ve been performing about three years. But in public I’ve only been performing for about a year.”

What kinds of music do you enjoy best? Any favorite performers or favorite songs?
“I enjoy all kinds of music, but pop and country are the two genres I listen to the most. I love Carrie Underwood, Beyonce, and Kate Voegele along with many others. I like Carrie Underwood and Beyonce because they have amazing, powerful voices and they are great performers and inspirational people. I like Kate Voegele because I think she is a great songwriter. My favorite song by Beyonce is ‘Ave Maria’ and my favorite song by Kate Voegele is ‘Manhattan from the Sky.’ I don’t have a favorite song by Carrie Underwood – I love them all!”

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
“Winning the Natick High talent show last year. It was the first time my friends had heard me sing and I wasn’t really expecting to win, so it was a really special night.”

How do you spend your free time?
“I love sports – I play volleyball, basketball, and I run track. I love to be outside and hang out with my friends. One of my favorite things to do is sit around a bonfire with all my closest friends.”

What do you like best about your hometown?
“I love the school spirit at Natick High! It’s a pretty small town so almost everyone goes to the high school football games wearing red and blue body paint, cheering like crazy.”

Cori Savlen

How do you like to spend your free time?
“I do a lot of acting and singing. I love to snowboard and dance too.”

What is the most fun thing you have ever done?

What would you like to be doing five years from now?
“I would love to be playing my music for anyone willing to listen.”
