The nation’s longest-running entertainment series in television history is also New England’s most Emmy nominated entertainment TV program for the third straight year! For the 34th Annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards, ten Community Auditions members were nominated in four categories.

“We’re so proud of our team at Community Auditions,” says Executive Producer Chuck Armstrong. “With a 52-week season, they work hard all year long and it’s really cool when their work gets recognized in this way.”

The list of Emmy categories and Community Auditions’ nominees are as follows:

• Director Post Production: William Sarris, Steve Kline and Charles Armstrong
• On-Camera Talent Program-Host/Moderator: Ramiro Torres, Kristina Akra and Stephen Donovan

The 34th Annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on May 14th at the Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, Massachusetts.

With two new special auditions episodes, we are taking our viewers behind the scenes for the first time at our open auditions and letting fans decide which hopefuls will go on to compete during the 2011 season! In each episode, 10 audition contestants from all over New England will perform in a variety of musical styles; everything from “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars to “Soul Shine” by the Allman Brothers.

“I feel very privileged to be a part of the Community Audition’s special audition episode,” says Erin Connolly, an audition contestant and senior at Rockville High School in Connecticut. “Community Auditions is a wonderful opportunity for singers all around New England to showcase their passion for music and I am delighted to be a part of this unique audition process.”

The episodes will air on two consecutive weekends, the first episode on April 8-10 and the second on April 15-17. After each episode, fans can visit www.communityauditions.com/vote to vote for their favorite audition contestant. The top three auditions with the most votes from each episode will win a chance to perform on the Community Auditions stage and compete to be the next Star of the Day! Viewers will also have the chance to participate in another Community Auditions first – a live online Twitter chat about each episode all weekend long.
