The Community Auditions All-Stars

The Community Auditions All-Stars have collectively been playing together for nearly 30 years. Individually these rock n’ roll legends have graced the stages with some of music’s most legendary performers. From an Emmy award-winner to the musical director for Joe Cocker these guys know how to play. You won’t find a band with as much talents as the Community Auditions All-Stars. Here is a little bit about each band member!

BillBill Holloman – Saxophone, Keyboards, Vocals
Bill has been part of the musical circuit for years. In his home studio, Holloman records “one man” horn sections (Bass & reeds) for clients all over the country, as well as produces jingles and other custom music, and has worked in virtually every major studio on the east coast. He has been featured in bands such as Nile Rodgers (Chic), Gatlin Brothers, and the great guitarist Danny Gatton. He has recorded or performed with Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Diana Ross, Slash, Elton John and many many other notable artists. He earned an Emmy Award for the HBO sports documentary “Legendary Nights.” He is a featured soloist on a handful of sports entertainment shows and he also composes and produces music TV shows and films.

MartyMarty Richards – Drums
Marty has made the rounds on the national and international stage for nearly 40 years and has been the drummer on more than 75 different recordings in TV and film. Immediately after he graduated from Berklee College of Music he started his musical career with the Grammy award-winning Gary Burton Quintet and toured the world for ten years. He held a long-term seat in ensembles such as Peter Wolf and the Legendary Sleepless Travlers, the Duke Robillard Band, James Montgomer Band and Mystix. He performed most recently with the J. Geils Band and even joined Joe Perry of Aerosmith for the Joe Perry Project tour of USA, Canada and the United Kingdoms and he appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman.” He has performed and recorded with many legendary acts such as the Blues Brothers Band, Jim Belushi the Sacred Hearts and many others.

CliffCliff Goodwin – Guitar
Cliff is a founding member with the legendary New England rock n’ roll gods- The American Standard Band. In 1976 he started touring with Joe Cocker as his lead guitarist all over the world until 1988. He has shared the stage with Nicky Hopkins and Bobby Keyes, and has recorded “Luxury You Can Afford” (Asylum), “Cocker” (Capitol), “Live in Central Park” (Casablanca) and others. Throughout the years he’s worked with Johny Mayall, Steve Miller, and Robert Palmer. He has appeared on three Billboard Hot 100-charted singles with the New City Rockers, and the million-seller Twisted Christmas with the Bob Rivers Comedy Coporation. He has shared stages across the country with Delbert McClinton, BB King and other notable blues artists. On top of all his performances and recordings he also consults with the Bose Corporation as Musical Director for Research and Development for the new L-1 Amplification Speaker System.

Wolf Ginandes – Bass
Wolf has been playing since high school and started playing full time in 1972. About eight years later he started repairing guitars for a living and playing at gigs nearly every day of the week. He has toured places such as Canada, California, the midwest, Florida and even Switzerland. He’s done some short tours with Tracy Nelson, Kal David, Matt Murphy and Howard Tate. Although a Community Auditions All-Star he also plays and records with a couple of great local singers; Digney Fignus who has been a judge on Community Auditions and another local talent-Dan King. Over the span of his musical career Wolf has been playing nearly every night. Within the last several years he has started to slow down a bit- however he is still playing 15-20 nights a month!

MitchMitch Chakour – Piano
Mitch has been performing professionally since he was 14. He has worked with Bonnie Raitt, Holin’ Wolf, Big Mamma Thorton, Chuck Berry, Kate and James Taylor, Arlo Guthrie Matt Guitar Murphy and many, many others. Mitch was music director/arranger/pianist/guitarist/vocalist for Joe Cocker. He worked extensively with original “Rent” star Daphne Rubin-Vega. Mitch has produced and written music for many documentaries including nine films for the Smithsonian Institute and an award winning film with Garrison Keillor about the Mississippi River. Mitch is currently writing and producing music for films, producing various recording artists for AVAMA productions, singing with Peter Wolf in The J Geils Band, performing in his own band and with the Community Auditions All-Stars.
