Candy O’Terry

One of the most loved voices on the radio in Boston, Candy is heard on Magic 106.7 from 3-8 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Candy O’Terry came to Boston to dive for Boston College and and garnered silver medal in the Massachusetts Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships. She has been a two time finalist on Star Search, and a jingle singer. In the 80s she fronted a band. In 1990, Candy was hired as a fill-insecretary in the programming department at Magic 106.7 and the rest, as they say, is history. She has gone on to become one of Boston’s most popular radio personalities and ratings success stories. She is now into her eighth year as Assistant Program Director at Magic 106.7, making her one of a handful of women in this position in the country. She recorded “The Gift” with Grammy nominee Jim Brickman and David Corey, and has performed “Over the Rainbow” at Symphony Hall with Keith Lockhart & the Boston Pops. Other venues include; Boston’s Shubert Theatre and the TD Banknorth Garden. You can hear her voice aboard American Airlines flights worldwide. As creator and co-host of Magic 106.7’s radio program “Exceptional Women”, she has won 23 local and national awards for excellence in women’s programming. “Exceptional Women” has set a record by earning nine Gracie Allen Awards from the American Women in Radio & Television. She has been honored by the Gilda Radner Foundation for her work on behalf of women’s cancers and is the spokesperson for the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk. She is the recipient of the “Media Hero Award” from the American Red Cross. Candy is serving her second term as President of the American Women in Radio & Television/New England Chapter.
